Overview
In this article, you will learn what an "Abandoned Cart" transaction status is. Buyers may see this failed transaction status on their receipts. Please see the explanation below for more information.
What is an "Abandoned Cart"?
An Abandoned Cart transaction status on BeatStars indicates that a buyer added items to their shopping cart but did not complete the purchase. In some scenarios, the transaction was simply not completed by the buyer. In other cases, there was an issue while checking out.
Causes of Abandoned Cart transactions vary and include excessive form fields, lack of payment options, or lack of trust signals. However, in all transaction scenarios, please be aware that BeatStars has no involvement in or control over the transaction process. Our role is to automatically send files once PayPal or the payment provider confirms successful transaction processing. BeatStars does not function as a payment processor, so we cannot create, alter, approve, or remove any transaction; these functions are handled exclusively by PayPal or a payment provider.
Please be aware that in the case of an abandoned cart, the buyer should not have been charged for the unsuccessful transaction, and they may need to explore alternative payment methods. While they might see a "temp/pending/completed" charge on their credit card or bank statement, it should not go through. However, if it does post, the buyer should reach out to PayPal Technical Support for assistance through this link.
