How Can I Use My Custom Domain Name with My Pro Page (Studio)?

This article applies to:

  • Beat sellers
  • Professional plan

Overview
In this article, you'll learn how to connect your custom domain to your Pro Page. The screenshots and video shown are on GoDaddy, but any domain provider should have equivalent sections to configure your DNS.

IMPORTANT NOTE: After following these instructions, it can take a few business days to apply the SSL certificate. Your default URL based on your username followed by ".beatstars.com" should still be secure in the meantime.

Step-by-step instructions:

  1. Click the "Add" button. Screen_Shot_2022-09-23_at_12.30.23_AM.png

  2. First, we will create a CNAME.  Type/select the following values into each field:

    Type: CNAME
    Host: www
    Points to:  propage.beatstars.com

If you receive "An unexpected error occurred." during this step, this error usually occurs when users already have an existing "CNAME" with "www" as the host.  If this is the case, you will need to edit that one instead of creating a new one.5a_Newer.jpg

  3. Next, you will need to create an A Record. Click the "Add" and fill in the A Record with the information below.

    Type: A
    Host: @
    Points To: 52.206.159.80Screen_Shot_2018-12-11_at_12.11.41_PM.png
  4. Delete any Forwarding you have set up.

NOTE: You will not need to add an AAAA record. Please remove any AAAA record on your DNS settings.Screen_Shot_2018-12-11_at_12.19.04_PM.png

  5. Delete any old A Record with an @ Host. You may need to refresh the page in order to delete them

  6. Lastly, visit Edit Pro Page. Click on the Domain section, then input your domain name in the "Domain Name" field. Do not include http:// or www. before your entry, please simply start with your actual domain name. Screen_Shot_2022-09-23_at_12.28.24_AM.png
