Overview
This article provides guidance for buyers and sellers encountering the error message "Unable to add this product to cart due to an error with the seller's payout method" when attempting to make a purchase on the BeatStars Marketplace or a seller's Pro Page. Please see the explanation below for more information.
Buyers
We truly apologize for this error. Please allow us to clarify that BeatStars has no involvement in or control over the transaction process. Our role is to automatically send files once PayPal confirms successful transaction processing. BeatStars does not function as a payment processor, so we cannot create, alter, approve, or remove any transaction; these functions are handled exclusively by PayPal or a payment provider.
Usually, this error message indicates that one or more producers have not linked a payment method to their BeatStars account(s), they are not accepting the buyer's currency, or another issue with their payment account.
In this case, we recommend that you reach out to the producer(s) involved in this transaction. Please feel free to contact the producer(s) directly using the "Message" button or social media links (if any) on their BeatStars account.
Sellers
If you have been notified that a potential buyer has received the above error message while attempting to add one of your beats to their cart, we kindly suggest communicating with them to try and resolve this issue. Some questions to ask the buyer include:
1) Which beat(s) or product(s) are they trying to buy?
2) Are they attempting to purchase other items from other sellers within the same transaction?
Upon finding out this information, you may want to verify that the beat(s) mentioned is not a collaboration track. If the beat(s) is a collaboration, we suggest informing the collaborator(s) about this issue, as they may need to reach out to PayPal. As stated above, BeatStars has no involvement in or control over the transaction process. More than likely, one of the following issues has occurred:
- One or more producer's PayPal account(s) is not set up to accept international currency
- An expired payment method is linked to a PayPal account
- There is an issue on PayPal's side
