Overview
As your Projects library grows, finding specific content quickly becomes essential. BeatStars Projects gives you two complementary ways to locate what you need: Global Search for searching across everything you own or collaborate on, and Starred for keeping your most important content one click away. This article explains how to find your content using both options.
Search results and Starred items are private to you. Project owners cannot see what other users have starred, and Search only returns content you have access to.
Step-by-step Guide: Using Global Search
Start typing your search query. Results appear in real time as you type, organized by category (Projects, Folders, Files).
Important noteSearch is not case-sensitive and supports partial matches. For example, typing "beat" will find the result "beatmaking session".
To see the full search results page, press Enter or click "View all results". On the full results page, use the filters above the results to narrow results by:
File type: Audio, Documents, Images, DAW projects, or Archives.
Date: Any Time, Today, Last 7 days, Last 90 days, Last year, or Custom range.
Ownership: Owned by me, or Shared with me.
Metadata: BPM range, Key, or Genre.Active filters provide visual feedback and can be removed by clicking the “Clear all” button or updating the filter.
Step-by-step Guide: Using Starred
In the Starred view, you'll see all your starred items in a single list with each item's name, type, date modified, and parent location for context.
To un-star an item, click the filled star icon (it toggles back to un-starred), or select "Remove from starred" from the more options menu (by clicking the 3 dots to the right of the item). Items are removed from the Starred list immediately.
Sort and filter your Starred view using the options at the top:
Sort by Date starred, Date modified, or Name.
Filter by item Type (Projects, Folders, or Files).
