Overview: Once your track gets approved for BeatStars Publishing, it enters an evaluation period for up to 90 days before the registration is finalized.
This evaluation period is designed to:
- Ensure Accurate Registrations - We use this time to thoroughly verify all writers and split information so that your share is fairly accounted for.
- Prevent Fraud - Protecting against fraudulent claims is part of our commitment to BeatStars Publishing members. The waiting period helps us ensure that only you and the other rightful owners are included in song registrations.
Once your approved track is out of the evaluation period, the status will change from “Processing” to “Published”.
Important Note: It may take a few days after this action for the song to appear in your Sony Score account.
Can I speed up the process?
While the standard evaluation period is 90 days, you can help expedite this by providing documentation that verifies your ownership. This may include:
- Signed Producer agreements showing the writers and splits on the song.
- BeatStars licenses.
- You can always send ownership documentation to: publishing@beatstars.com and our team will be happy to help.
Will I miss out on revenue?
It’s important to know that the evaluation period will not affect what revenue is owed to you. Any publishing royalties you accumulate during this period will be paid out to you after the song is accepted, registered and goes through the collection process. If your song gains significant streaming momentum during this time, we will reach out to you right away for any additional documentation needed to expedite your registration.
