Overview
If your custom domain is showing as “Not Secure”, it is usually related to your SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificate or incorrect DNS settings.
This article explains common causes, timelines for SSL activation, and how to verify your domain settings to ensure your BeatStars Pro Page displays securely.
Common Reasons for SSL Errors
1. Recently Applied Custom Domain Settings
- SSL setup takes time after applying your custom domain settings.
- General timelines: 7–10 business days (excluding weekends).
- In some cases, the process may take longer for SSL to fully apply.
2. Incorrect Domain Settings
If your DNS settings are not configured correctly, BeatStars cannot apply or renew your SSL.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If your records do not point to the values above, SSL will not be applied.
3. Expired SSL Certificate
- SSL certificates expire every 30–60 days.
- If your domain was secure previously but is no longer, the certificate may have expired.
- Renewal process:
- Confirm your DNS settings are correct.
- Renewal typically takes 7–10 business days (excluding weekends).
- BeatStars attempts to renew before expiration, but due to system limits and volume, immediate renewal is not always possible.
