How Can I Use My Custom Domain Name with My Pro Page?

This article applies to:

  • Beat Sellers
    • Professional Plan

Overview

In this article, you’ll learn how to connect your custom domain to your BeatStars Pro Page by updating your DNS records. Every domain registrar’s layout looks different, but the DNS records you need to create or update are the same.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • If you need help finding or updating your DNS settings, please contact your domain registrar’s support team so they can help you configure your domain for use with your BeatStars Pro Page.
  • After following these instructions, it can take a few business days for the SSL certificate to apply. Your default username.beatstars.com URL should still be secure in the meantime.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Log in to your domain registrar account and go to the DNS settings for the domain you want to connect. This section may be called “DNS Management,” “Zone Editor,” or “Manage DNS.”

  2. Create or update the CNAME record for www using the following values:

    • Type: CNAME
    • Host: www
    • Points to: propage.beatstars.com

If you receive “An unexpected error occurred,” you may already have an existing CNAME record with www as the host. Edit the existing CNAME record instead of creating a new one, then update it to point to propage.beatstars.com.

  3. Create or update the A record for your root domain using the following values:

    • Type: A
    • Host: @
    • Points to: 52.206.159.80

This connects your root domain, such as yourdomain.com, to your Pro Page.

  4. Remove old or conflicting DNS records that may prevent your domain from connecting correctly:

    • Remove any AAAA records. You do not need an AAAA record for your Pro Page domain setup.
    • Remove old or conflicting A records for @. If you already have an A record with @ as the host, delete it unless it points to 52.206.159.80.
    • Remove domain forwarding or redirect rules. If your domain is set to forward or redirect somewhere else, delete the forwarding or redirect rule.

You may need to refresh the DNS settings page before deleting old records.

  5. Go to your Pro Page domain settings in BeatStars Studio.

  6. Enter your custom domain in the "Set Custom Domain" field without http:// and without www. For example, enter your domain as your-custom-domain.com:

  7. Click "Publish" to save your changes.

IMPORTANT NOTE: After following these instructions, it can take a few business days for the SSL certificate to apply. Your default username.beatstars.com URL should still be secure in the meantime.
