YouTube’s Content Management System or CMS is considered the backend of the platform. It is within this system where sound recordings are onboarded and used to scan the site for use of the song within videos uploaded by all YouTubers. Content ID is constantly running because over 720,000 hours of content is uploaded to YouTube daily.
When songs are onboarded via BeatStars' Publishing portal, they also go through the process of being onboarded to Sony’s Publishing CMS on YouTube. These songs are scanned, as long as the song recording exists, and we are allowed to claim ownership from that point forward.
