How to Upload Tracks (Studio)

Overview

In this article, you will learn how to upload a track to BeatStars to begin selling your beats. Please see the following instructions.

Step-by-step Guide:

1. Go to the Tracks section of your BeatStars Studio: https://studio.beatstars.com/content/tracks/uploaded 
   
   
2. Click the "Add Track +" button near the top right of the page.
   
   
   
3. In the window that appears, click the "Start" button.
   
   
   
4. Choose an untagged WAV or MP3 file and drag and drop it into the "Untagged track" section, or click on that section to browse and select a file to upload or attach to the track. If you upload a WAV here, an MP3 copy will be automatically created.
   
   
   
5. Next, you can upload a tagged MP3 for streaming. This is optional, because if you leave this blank, we will tag your untagged MP3 for you and automatically make it the streaming beat.
   
   
   

6. Next, upload a zip file for your track stems. While this step is optional, track stems are usually included in premium license types, and most buyers will expect to have these available for purchase. 
   
   
   IMPORTANT NOTE: Stem uploads are only available for accounts on the Growth Plan or Professional Plan. If you'd like to upgrade your account, you can do so by following the steps in this guide: How do I Upgrade my Account?
   

7. Add your track's artwork, title, and description.
   
   
   
8. Set your track type (Track, Track with hook, Topline, or Vocal), and select your track visibility (Public, Private, or Unlisted).
   Private: Your track will only be visible to you.
   Public: Your track will be visible to everyone on Marketplace & Pro Page.
   Unlisted: Your track will be visible only to those you send the link to.
   
   
9. Schedule a future release date for the track or leave the Release Date section as-is if you want your track to be published immediately. Choose if you'd like the track to be included in you bulk discounts, and click the "Next" button when finished.
   
   
   

10. You can click the "Autofill Metadata" button and our AI will fill out your metadata for you, including your BPM and Key, or you can choose to enter this info manually. Click the "Next" button when finished.
    
    IMPORTANT NOTE: You will need to type in tags for your track, as this will not be autofilled.
    
    
    

11. If you worked with anyone else on the track, you can enter your collaborators by clicking the "+ Add collaborator" button. You can set the profit share, which will split the earnings made from sales on BeatStars, and you are able to enter publishing percentages.
    
    
    

12. If you have used 3rd party loops or samples, you would need to add them to this page by clicking the checkbox. Click the "Next" button when finished.
    
    IMPORTANT NOTE: You must have 100% of all the rights to use any loops or samples, even royalty-free samples from services like Splice.
    
    
    

13. In the Monetization section, select which of your active licenses you want to sell for this track, and select a free download option (if applicable).
    
    
    
14. If you are on the Professional subscription plan, you can choose to submit your track to Content ID & More. For more information on Content ID & More, please see the following article: Content ID & More FAQs

15. Click the "Publish track" button when finished.
