Overview:
In this article, you'll learn about the pre-authorization charge applied when signing up for a free trial subscription on the platform.

Why was I charged for the free trial?
When you sign up for a free trial subscription, a pre-authorization hold is placed on your payment method. This transaction is held 'on hold' by your payment provider through third-party services to verify that your card is valid and has sufficient funds. This helps ensure there are no disruptions to your subscription should you decide to continue using the service after the trial.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You are not actually charged during this pre-authorization period. The funds are simply held temporarily, and you will only be charged if you continue with the subscription once the trial ends. This was shown before you signed up for the free trial as shown below:

Will I be charged twice?
No, you will not be charged twice. The pre-authorization does not deduct any money permanently; it checks that your card is valid and has sufficient funds. You will be charged for the subscription only if you do not cancel before the trial ends.

If you do not wish to continue your subscription after your free trial, you can cancel it at any time before the trial ends. For more information, follow our help article here: How Do I Cancel My Paid Subscription?

When can I expect my funds?
The release of the pre-authorization hold can take up to 21 business days (holidays excluded), depending on your bank. In many cases, the funds are returned sooner. If you have not received your funds after 21 business days, please contact your bank provider to inquire about the release time frame.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The pre-authorization funds for the free trial will be returned to you, and you are not charged unless you continue with the subscription after the free trial.
