How Does Promote Billing Work?

This article applies to:

    • Starter Plan

Overview:
In this article, you will learn how promotion billing and invoicing works.

IMPORTANT NOTE: All campaigns are now invoiced up front.

For fixed campaigns with a specific start and end date, you are billed up front for the full cost of the campaign.  This ensures that you have enough funds in the system to be able to have your promotional campaign displayed to users.

For example, if you have a campaign with a budget of $5 that runs for 7 days, you will be billed $35 up front.

For continuous campaigns that have no end date, you are billed up front for the cost of a single day of promotion.  You are then billed your daily budget amount every day the campaign is running.  This ensures that you have enough funds at the start of the day to run your campaign.

For example, if you have a campaign with a budget of $5, you will be billed $5 up front plus $5 every day until you pause or end the campaign.

What if I end my campaign before all the funds are used?
If impressions were not served and there is an amount left in your campaign budget, we will return this to your promo wallet as credits.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If a campaign runs the full course of the duration you have set and there are funds left over at the end of the duration, those funds will be added to your promo wallet as Promote credits at approximately 12am UTC.

What if my payment method fails?
If your payment method fails, any active campaigns that fail the transaction will be stopped by the system until you are able to update your payment method.
