Overview

This article provides a detailed explanation of what a Performing Rights Organization (PRO) Publishing Entity is. It aims to clarify the role and function of these entities within the music industry, helping readers understand how they operate and why they are important for songwriters, composers, and music publishers.

What is a Performing Rights Organization (PRO) Publishing Entity?

A PRO Publishing Entity is a publishing account/company associated with one's PRO affiliation. When an individual/company signs up to be a Publishing member with a respective PRO, they can choose to sign up as an individual (sole proprietorship/single-member LLC) or a company (S Corp, etc).

If you have established a company for publishing or other business ventures, you will be able to enter that under the Writer Info section during BeatStars Publishing signup, although you do not need one to complete your BeatStars Publishing application.
