Overview

If you believe your BeatStars account has been hacked or compromised, it is important to secure it as soon as possible. This article explains the steps you should take to review your account details, remove any unauthorised access, update your passwords, and confirm that your payment methods have not been changed.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you continue to see suspicious activity after completing the steps above, please keep Support updated so the issue can be reviewed further.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Log in to your BeatStars account if possible. If you are unable to login, please contact support@beatstars.com

  2. Check that your account email is still correct by going to your Credentials page and confirming that the email address on your account still belongs to you and has not been changed by someone else.

  3. On the same Credentials page, scroll to the bottom and review any connected social media login options. Disconnect any access you do not recognise.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You should also change the passwords for any connected social media accounts in case they were compromised.

  4. Once you have confirmed your email and checked your connected logins, change your BeatStars account password immediately:

NOTE: Choose a strong, unique password that you are not using anywhere else.

  5. Check that your payment methods have not been changed and still belong to you. Review all relevant payment areas here:

    - Subscription payments
    - Beat sales payment account
    - Royalty payout payment accounts

  6. To add an extra layer of security, we strongly recommend enabling multi-factor authentication for your BeatStars account and any connected social media accounts:
