BeatStars is actively removing fraudulent activity, banning bot accounts, and dedicating additional resources to keep the marketplace safe. We take strong action against anyone violating our Terms of Service or Code of Conduct.

2. What are some common scams I should watch out for?

  • Fake buyer/collaborator scams: Requests for off-platform payments, strange refund demands, or too-good-to-be-true offers.
  • Phishing disguised as support messages: We will never ask for your password, payment info, or verification codes.
  • Requests to move conversations off-platform: These are often attempts to bypass platform protections.
  • Job scams: Official BeatStars job listings are available here. We never require payment to apply or be considered for a role.

3. How can I spot a suspicious email or message?

  • Check the sender: Be cautious of emails or messages from unknown users with incomplete profiles.
  • Watch for odd formatting: Generic greetings, grammar issues, and urgent or threatening language are red flags.
  • Avoid unknown links or files: Do not click or download anything unless you’re sure it’s safe, even if the message looks legitimate.
