What if I have a question about a license, product or service purchase?

This article applies to:

  • Beat Buyers

Overview

This article is to address the issue of what to do if you have questions about a license or beat and/or content purchase on BeatStars.

Beat and/or Content Purchase
Please note that producers fully manage their own licenses, content, sales, and client communication. BeatStars does not manage these on their behalf.

If you have a question about a purchase, the best next step is to contact the producer directly. You can do this by:

  • Using the Message button on the producer’s BeatStars profile page.

  • Clicking on the producer’s social media links (if provided on their profile).

  • Using the email address from your receipt page (sent after you’ve completed a purchase).

Here is an example screenshot of where to find the Message button on BeatStars:

Beat and/or Content Refund Requests
Please note that BeatStars does not manage or control producer's transactions. We are not a payment processor, so we cannot create, alter, approve, or cancel any payments. Transactions are processed directly through PayPal, and once PayPal confirms a successful payment, our system automatically delivers the purchased files to your receipt page.

Because producers manage their own sales and content, all refund requests are handled by them directly. If you would like to request a refund, please contact the producer (via messenger or email) to discuss your available options.

Incorrect Name or Transaction Details
The name and details that appear on your license are automatically generated based on:

  • Any information entered at checkout.

  • The personal information linked to the email address used for the purchase.

  • The details from your payment method.

  • The details from your BeatStars account.

If you need to change or update your name or other details, the producer can issue a revised license for you. Once you reach out to the producer, they can create a manual license with the corrected information.

Copyright Strike on Purchased Beat(s)
Sometimes, a copyright claim can occur even if you’ve purchased the correct license. In many cases, this can be resolved with your distributor by providing them with the license agreement for your track (depending on your distributor’s terms of service).

What to do if this happens:

  • Check you are within your agreed license terms. If you are:
    • Contact your distributor’s support team and provide them with a copy of your license.
    • Await their feedback and resolution.
  • If you have any more issues, please reach out to the producer directly (via the Message button, social links, or purchase receipt email) as they can help you further.

General Questions About Purchases
If you have other concerns about your purchase (for example, regarding a mix & mastering service, vocal present, receiving the wrong file, needing clarification on terms, or other purchase-related issues), please contact the producer directly through the methods mentioned above.

Questions About License (before purchase)
Licenses are created and managed entirely by producers, and their terms may vary depending on amended settings. However, in general, we can confirm:

  • Non-Exclusive Licenses - are leases with limited usage rights based on the producer’s chosen settings.

  • Exclusive Licenses - typically transfer ownership, meaning the buyer becomes the new copyright owner.

Since each producer operates as an independent business, the exact contract details are determined at their discretion. If you have a question about the license or content, the best next step is to contact the producer directly. You can do this by:

  • Using the Message button on the producer’s BeatStars profile page.

  • Clicking on the producer’s social media links (if provided on their profile).

  • Using the email address from your transaction receipt (if you’ve completed a purchase)

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Each producer fully operates as their own business entity, and BeatStars support is not able to speak on their behalf, as we do not own legal rights to their material. If you have any questions or concerns with your purchase, please resolve it directly with the producer.
